From Fish to Bison

As the excavation proceeds deeper into units 6 and 7, fish bone and fish scales are still appearing with the addition of incomplete bison bones.  Today, one of the participants pointed the project in the right direction with the discovery of part of a projectile point.  The point was broken where it would have been hafted onto an arrow shaft.  Also found were portions from ceramic containers.  One of the pieces was from the rim and was decorated.  It appears that the people living at the site were not only fishing but also hunting, cooking and even processing bison hides with stone scrapers (scrapers are used to remove fat and tissue from inside of the hide).
