Pictographs
Pictographs (or rock art) can be found across Manitoba in the Canadian Shield. The paint used in the creation of rock art is a mixture of animal fat and red ochre (an iron-rich mineral). Flat granite rock walls adjacent to the water appear to be the preferred location to create the art.
